He has over 25 years of senior health care system experience, serving in a variety of capacities, including hospital CEO and System Executive accountable for multiple hospitals, physician offices, surgery centers and home health services. As the President/Market Executive for SSM St. Charles Market, he oversaw the largest market within the SSM Health Care System. The health and happiness of seniors has always been important to Kevin, especially those who reside in St. Charles County. He envisioned, developed and secured financing for assisted living at the Meadowlands, one of the largest senior communities in the region. A new endeavor like Avalon Park requires sound fiscal stewardship. With the financial acumen of Tom Chulick at the helm, we are confident in our course. Tom has nearly 30 years in commercial banking, investment management, asset management and treasury services. Respected in the financial sector, Tom was most recently appointed CEO and President of the St. Louis Regional Chamber after providing executive leadership as Chairman/CEO of UMB Bank of St. Louis. The UMB region includes Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and Nebraska. Tom is on the Webster University Board of Trustees, the St. Louis Sports Commission and serves on various corporate and nonprofit boards throughout the Midwest.
Thomas Brozka has spent his entire career helping others. To him, working in health care isn’t a job; it’s a calling. He began this path at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where he was educated and trained as a Speech Language Pathologist. Early in his career, he worked one-on-one with patients as a Speech Therapist, working mostly in post-acute rehabilitation with survivors of traumatic brain injury. He progressed to management, leading teams in a variety of settings including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, home health, home care and senior living. Thomas has focused exclusively on senior living as an Executive Director/Administrator since 2006. Regardless of his professional position, Thomas is dedicated to helping others. He has served as a volunteer for years with the Alzheimer’s Association®, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and Rebuilding Together St. Louis.
The Avalon Park team’s utility player, Ron Braun can do it all – and he brings that breadth of expertise to this new community. With over 25 years of experience, Ron has specialized in health care strategic planning, business planning and development, marketing and operations, and health care financing all within senior community development. He has also established commercial Medicare and Medicaid licensed health care plans in five different states. These broad yet specialized areas of knowledge are invaluable to Avalon Park. He didn’t start off in health care – early in his career, he headed the research department and served as the Chief Financial Officer for a regional planning and development organization. But his path soon brought him to the health care arena, where he served in executive, development, operating and consulting capacities with hospitals, regional health systems, ambulatory care facilities, medical groups and insurance companies. He has been an integral team leader or member in the acquisition and merger of several health care businesses.
There are people who are born to help others. There are people with a knack for getting the job done. Then there are those who have the rare ability to do both. That’s Kim. With the creativity, strategy and management skills learned and earned over an impressive career in sales, marketing and advertising, Kim leads the branding and marketing efforts of Avalon Park, shaping our message and changing people’s lives. Early in her career, she held a variety of roles in the marketing field. She devoted her time and efforts to forging client relationships, growing sales, and developing strategies for advertising campaigns. She worked for several advertising agencies and news organizations, honing her craft and skills. She then turned her attention to more personal entities, helping to raise money for charitable organizations throughout the St. Louis region. Every successful endeavor needs a storyteller. Kim tells our story.
